There is no single prescription or formula for dying well, but a combination of knowledge, understanding, caring and the sharing of feelings and experiences can contribute favourably to helping patients, families and caregivers fulfill such a wish.
In dying well, a patient may engage in continuing die-ologues and fulfil his need to talk without fear about the issues that matter: pain, death itself, reconciliation, personal financial settlement, making a will, funeral plans and everything else he may want to discuss. To help inspire these discussions, we have assembled here information and resources written by doctors, caregivers and authors.
You’ll also discover useful articles on caregiving which highlight the importance of patient comfort, their never feeling isolated but fully supported by loved ones and caregivers, and creating an ambience that is conducive to dying well.
Walking together through the last chapter, patients, caregivers and loved ones can do their best to cherish and honour life’s best finale.
